MIXMOVE HUB OSSmart Cross-DockingModule 01 of 07

Move inbound freight directly into the right outbound flow.

Coordinate receiving, scanning, consolidation, reconstruction, sorting and loading at item and loading-unit level. MIXMOVE HUB OS keeps inbound and outbound activity aligned while capturing discrepancies before they affect the next stage.

Smart Cross-Docking

What it does

Smart Cross-Docking is the core module of MIXMOVE HUB OS, designed for zero-storage, high-throughput operations. It consolidates and reconstructs cargo at item and loading-unit level, so goods leave the hub with minimal dwell time.

For each load, business rules weigh weight, volume, destination, service level, time windows and handling constraints, and decide whether to consolidate or reconstruct. Rules can be configured per customer, lane or service.

Key capabilities

    1. Consolidation and reconstruction

      • Rule-based decisions on consolidating or reconstructing at item and loading-unit level
      • Optimisation across weight, volume, destination, service level, time windows and handling constraints
      • Pallet building and breaking, with mixed SKUs
      • Rules configured per customer, lane or service
    2. Inbound planning and receiving

      • Arrival management with ETAs, ASNs, time slots and dock pre-assignment
      • Mobile scanning on receipt to verify quantity, identity and condition
      • Capacity planning for docks, staff and equipment
      • Receiving monitors that follow waves and exceptions in real time
    3. Outbound planning and execution

      • Load assignment based on destination, service level and cut-off times
      • Loading sequence optimised for route plans and time windows
      • Dock management for outbound waves, last-minute changes and re-allocations
      • Lane allocation and lane monitors to prevent misloads
    4. Documents, labels and exceptions

      • Carrier, GS1-128 and customer-specific labels, with reprinting
      • Packing lists, manifests, bills of lading, and dangerous goods and cross-border documents, archived with a full audit trail

    Outcomes

    Business value

What changes when goods flow through the hub instead of waiting in it.

    1. More throughput from the same space

Consolidation and reconstruction at item and loading-unit level, with dwell-time control, keep goods moving through the hub. Volume grows without adding storage capacity.

    2. Fewer errors and misloads

Mobile scanning on receipt, outbound lane monitors and real-time discrepancy capture catch problems at the stage where they occur, before they reach the next one.

    3. Customer and business rules applied consistently

Reconstruction rules, lane rules and loading list templates are set per customer, lane or service, so every load follows the agreed rules.

    • 130%+hub productivity
    • Up to 50%less hub space
    • Up to 80%fewer errors

In the UK & Ireland, DHL conducted an exercise to select a preferred cross-docking solution as we didn't have one. The most functionally rich solution was MIXMOVE.
